You might want to look at getting say the Canon 85mm L lens. This is a prime lense, meaning there is no adjustable zoom. But man, you can take some sweet shots with this lense IF you use it right. The lens itself gives off some pretty sweet bokeh (that blurry stuff in a photo that helps you focus on the main interest while the rest of the image is blurred).

You should also know exactly HOW to use your camera first too -- know all the manual settings so you can take full advantage of your camera.
